Longer essays may also contain an introductory page that defines words and phrases of the essay's topic. Most academic institutions require that all substantial facts, quotations, and other porting material in an essay be referenced in a bibliography or works cited page at the end of the text. This scholarly convention helps others (whether teachers or fellow scholars) to understand the basis of facts and quotations the author uses to support the essay's argument and helps readers evaluate to what extent the argument is supported by evidence, and to evaluate the quality of that evidence. The academic essay tests the student's ability to present their thoughts in an organized way and is designed to test their intellectual capabilities.

Because of these favorable advances, the life expectancies in most countries have increased. It is not enough, however, to solely rely on technology and medicine to increase your life expectancy. For example, medicine is only beneficial to your body in limited amounts, and once that limit is reached, anything above it becomes damaging. When consuming food, medicine, etc., make sure you know how much is useful and how much is harmful. Use everything in moderation.

These are just a few of the steps you need to take to help you live a longer life. Other beneficial actions include wearing sunblock (preferably SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, attending yearly physicals to help identify health problems at an early stage, and most importantly, being safe.
